The recently concluded SCUAA Meet 2017 of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC 6) gave the Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC)  31 golds, 14 silvers and 1 bronze in eight different sport events held at the province of Antique last December 3-8, 2017.

 

 

This year marks a golden milestone for PASUC as it celebrates its 5oth founding anniversary with the theme: “ PASUC VI: At the Forefront of the Global Dynamics of Public Higher Education”.

The different sport events where NIPSC landed as champion were; basketball men, softball, sepak takraw women and athletics. In addition, the baseball team garnered third place while pencat silat contributed one bronze medal.

On the other hand, a competitor for chess board one was declared champion.

The six-day sports feast involves 12 participating universities and colleges in the region: Aklan State University (ASU), Capiz State University (CAPSU), Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC), Central Philippine State University (CPSU), Guimaras State College (GSC), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF), Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC), Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST), University of Antique (UA), University of the Philippines-Visayas (UPV) and West Visayas State University (WVSU).

Meanwhile, Dr. Victor Navarra, the out-going PASUC VI President made an initial announcement during that awarding ceremony which he said  “NIPSC probably will host the 2018 PASUC VI SCUAA Meet”.

This year’s SCUAA Meet was hosted by Antique’s pride – University of Antique (UA).
